Look for more resource information on the relationship between folic acid, neural tube defects and other topics on the March of Dimes or Centers for Disease Control web sites.

"Nutrition Facts" food labels do not always indicate the presence of folic acid or folate, even if the food is a good source of the vitamin, unless the food has been modified or enriched with folic acid.
