Luhrs to be student commencement speaker

Lauren Luhrs, senior in human ecology and mass communications, has been selected to give the 2008 student commencement address on May 16.
In addition, she is one of 21 chosen as Outstanding Seniors in the college and will be honored at the Graduation Honors and Student Awards Presentation Reception.
The senior is specializing in apparel marketing and public relations and minoring in business and leadership studies.
Luhrs was on the team that won the International Leadership Association case study competition in November. She has a grade point average of 4.0 and is a Putnam Scholar and member of Blue Key senior honorary, the student alumni board, Mortar Board senior honor society, Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Omicron Nu.
After graduation, Luhrs will join Payless ShoeSource’s corporate office in Topeka as a merchandise distribution analyst. She plans to work on an M.B.A.
